The performance itself has not changed really. The article is a bit misleading.

They did fix the shader compilation issues, which would caused by the previous update. Overall performance is basically the same.

I've read that there's another fix that adjusted the displayed vram usage to accurately show your actual usage: previously it was showing too low. Might need to go and readjust settings if you're now reading too high.
