Because it isn't a real brag. It is an apple to oranges comparison.

It’s a reasonable comparison if the goal is comparing EVs to petrol cars. If you just want to see how good the car is overall, I agree that an apples to apples comparison would be better.

By that line of reasoning it would be equally valid to compare the top speeds of the vehicles. Imo both are a bit silly, since the reason for certain advantages/disadvantages are mostly the limitations of the respective technology.
