I'm ready to die, honestly. Not that I want to do it, it's just that I feel it's time since the pandemic.

Quick clarification question. Ready to, or mentally prepared for death?

[–] selokichtli@lemmy.ml 2 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)

Not sure what the difference is, except one implies the other and not vice versa. I'm not planning it, it's just okay if it happens. Wouldn't say I'm mentally prepared, but I hope it's fast enough.

Well, ready to sounds similar to passive suicidal ideation. Example: you question if you would be motivated to jump out of the way of an oncoming car or accept it.

By mentally prepared I mean that you have an understanding of your own mortality and accept that life will end at some point without having mental or emotional stress at the thought(s).

Edit: Passive Suicidal Ideation is a sign that assistance may be needed. Anyone struggling with this please reach out to a therapist, memorize your prevention hotline, or throw out other lifelines. I had my struggle, but I will continue because I must. I can't rely on others to remember those important to me, or mourn them as they deserve.

has anything made sense after the pandemic?

[–] stinky@redlemmy.com 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Many aspects of my life are consistent

What specifically has changed for you? (my question was for the person above you, btw, I do not mean to abandon that thread)

given selokichtli already responded i'll chip in as well.
it's honestly quite hard to give an exact answer, but life has definitely not felt the same ever since the lockdowns hit.

late 2019 to like 2023 and even early 2024 flew by very fast for me. i can't even really remember much from that period and i'm not sure whether it's a direct consequence of the above, or maybe it's from COVID brain fog (i'm not even sure if i had COVID in the first place)

in any case things have felt off since the lockdowns. not to mention how much the internet has changed ever since LLMs got rolled out.

ok, thank you for responding, my memories of 2020 are very fast too, I did not notice until now

[–] selokichtli@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I don't know. It's more like a time reference than a consequence of.

Gotcha, I am sorry to hear. Hopefully you find freedom and joy during the coming challenges
