I've read something on twitter about how apparently recently Iran finally used like one of their modern rockets and dealt major damage to Israel; apparently they were using their old, 20-30 year old missiles to overwhelm the iron dome and then after getting rid of Israel's iron dome, they'll use their newest tech.

Actually pretty well thought out.

Iran seems to have developed a new method of defeating Israeli air defence sytem, just get them to fire at each other. Sorry don't know how to post twitter link, but there's a video of an Israeli missile defence system firing its missiles. It goes up but then quickly it comes back down and a huge explosion! lol

I think this was a one-off malfunction. I've only seen the one video you've mentioned but no other examples.

yeah it was surely a malfunction, but the IRGC was trolling by releasing that statement about developing secret new strategy lol

Yeah this type of AD tends to produce misfires like that. Happened several times in Ukraine, even one where they hit a hospital with their own AD and blamed it on Russia.

Like a lot of reasons why you shouldn't put this shit near civilian infrastructure. IIRC Iron Dome, David Sling and Arrow systems are all mobile, but they have them parked in dense residential areas. Pretty much guaranteed to kill at least of a few of their own people, but then, who am I to tell zios not to bomb themselves?
