I'm surprised that there's so many countries who recognize Palestine. Is this a recent development?
no, the communist bloc and non-aligned countries recognised palestine in opposition to the western bloc's support of israel, right when palestine declared its independence in 1988
Ireland (and norway iirc) only recognised palestine recently.
spain too i think
edit: This wikipedia page has a table which you can sort by date if recognition
All the countries that recognized Palestine in the last two years are: Mexico (Feb 2025), Armenia, Slovenia (June 2024), Ireland, Norway, Spain, The Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago (May 2024), Jamaica, Barbados (April 2024)
The recent development is the recognition by some European and Caribbean countries. The rest of the world has recognized Palestine for decades.
As opposed to France and UK who also don't recognize Palestine and in the case of the UK have at least as much responsibility for the conflict?
But hey, fuck me for learning something new, right?
Straight to racism, huh?
