Is it only a meme if it is shared elsewhere before it is posted to a community about sharing memes? Is c/memes limited to sloppy seconds?
I get his argument. I personally don't mind it, but people are trying to curate their feeds better. Memes should ideally be for memes.
This better belongs in whitepeopletwitter. Do we have one on Lemmy yet?
Define meme
I second this. Memes used to be image macros and All Your Base. Now any Tumblr screenshot or 4chan greentext seems to count depending on who you ask.

Unfortunately, both this community and the shitposts community allow people to post whatever, per the community rules. This one has no rule about what a meme is, and shitposting explicitly allows whatever.
