Unity backpedaled
Yeah, but the sentiment is the same. They only backpedaled because people spoke up. They still think users of their platform can be nickel and dimed like that, and chances are they’ll try again. Most likely to a lesser extent, but people will accept it because “it’s not as bad as what they wanted before.”
This, exactly. Even if they didn’t get away with it, they still showed what they’re willing to try to get away with.
Which is precisely why they’re adding sex :-)

The studio backpedaled long before Unity did, they were never serious about it.
