No. We can change it to waaaaay way way lower chances.

There would be more homicides in general and waaaaay more suicide.
Most people would probably do more harm than good trying to stop a mass shooting with their own gun.
Right. People with a gun in the house are more likely to be injured or killed by a gun, not less.
Not to mention, most people aren't going to train enough to be effective. Most people don't respect deadly objects in their possession enough to learn how to use them safely and effectively. That's made obvious any time you watch people drive.
And you have to worry about the cops shooting the good Samaritan when the show up. Possibly by accident even.
100% certain it would be more. And I wager it would actually, be more than linear. Double the number if people with guns and you get more than double the number of mass shootings.
More until we reach convergence or critical mass and become singularity shooting.
