Hoshoryu wasn't having any of Takerufuji's henka, although the gyoji tripped over himself trying to readjust his position. Pretty intense match, if brief.
My fantasy sumo is going ok-ish this time around. I was mid 3000s last week and day 8 put me into mid 2000s (there are about 10000 people across the country who play)
I was gonna make a joke about that, but thought it'd be disrespectful. To his credit, he got right back up.
Oh is that the Kachi Clash? I didn't see that until the tourney started, maybe I'll try to figure it out for next time.
Kachi Clash is fun, although I usually don't do very well with it. But there's a company (I'm sure there are a lot of them in Japan actually, and I'm just realizing that the 10000 number I mentioned above might actually be more local than countrywide) where you pick a lineup ranked 1-9 and you get more points for your 9 rank winning than your 1. I got into it through some friends and it's a good way to remind me to watch the daily matches.
aw yeah, that's one reason I started doing the daily posts, it reminds me to check out dondon first thing every morning and then look up the rest of the rikishi I'm following. Unfortunately Shishi, Ura, and Big Papa aren't doing so well this tourney! Luckily Onosato and Aonishiki are killin it.
I figured he'd be discouraged after recently coming so close to a yusho. After 20 years of sumo I don't think he's got much more left in him unfortunately-- if I had to guess I'd say this is the beginning of the end for him.
