On Friday is May 9th, which is the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, which Russia, among other places, celebrates as the day when the Soviets defeated the Nazis. Naturally, one of the current hotspots of fascism in the world today, Ukraine, is essentially threatening that they might strike Russia or even Moscow itself during that timeframe. Any such strike would almost certainly be symbolic and not aimed at anything too important, as I doubt even Zelensky and his American handlers would actually want to kill a world leader, not least somebody like Xi Jinping. But I would not be surprised if they tried something nonetheless, if only to disrupt the event in some way and not actually kill anybody.
And, as we're on this topic, @EllenKelly@hexbear.net has reminded me that Tuesday is the anniversary of the Nazis burning the Institut für Sexualwissenschaf in 1933, an early institute advocating for the rights of LGBT people, and which also provided early forms of gender-affirming surgeries, as well as hormone therapies. We are currently seeing a crackdown on LGBT rights throughout swathes of the imperial core (as well as countries in the periphery, to the extent that those rights existed there already), and this Nazi-inspired movement will be similarly defeated in the future.

While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

The Indian copium on social media about losing four flighter jets during an attack they started themselves is ridiculous, I've never seen anything like it. It makes Ukrainian NAFO and Zelensky cope seem normal by comparison. Modi supporters and bots are just spamming community notes, and official India government accounts are calling everything "disinformation".
All that unhinged posting just for French intelligence to be like “yeah some got shot down”.
I have been living in this hell for 10+ years now. The best way to use Indian Social Media is to not touch it at all.
I feel sorry for the Indian people that can see through the government propaganda. These social media users are straight up painful to deal with. I can't imagine what they're like in real life, the Modi cult is something else. Chinese OSINT accounts with a few hundred followers had to lock comments to prevent endless spam. If they're prepared to harass a random Chinese nobody on twitter, the Modi cult must actually be dangerous in the real world. Stay safe.
It is very dangerous to dissent in India if you're living in BJP run states. The police will not protect you and Hindu Fascist Groups are free to lynch you to death and the media will not even address the issue because it's owned by the same billionaires that leech money form the country with Modi's blessing.

Reminder that CTH got banned the same week India changed J&Ks status, and the post in the sub showed up as the top in reddit search and was overly negative of India (obviously). I maintain to this day RSS posters mass reported the sub which lead to the banning.

In response to a news story about a French official saying, "yes, at least one Rafale was shot down" lmao. Even the people arming India are calling out their incompetence, likey to cover themselves and their product.

the way online indian news seems to react to, well, everything i'd expect them to have a tough choice ahead. either this is ww3 or nothing has ever happened, ever. nothing in between.
Definitely going for the nothing ever happens route for now, India lost at least four aircraft carrying out nine stand off strikes, and Pakistan has yet to respond...

Well according to astrology predictions, On the morning May 11 either party will likely conduct a successful military strike on the other, the Indian navy will participate in the conflict, May 17-18 will probably see the outbreak of war, BJP is going to lose hard starting around September of this year and an earthquake and a deep economic crisis will plague both countries.
