Ha, I've heard that even domain hosts themselves will jack up the price of a domain later after you search up its availability if you don't pay for it then and there! All powered by an algorithm, too...
Additionally to this do not use GoDaddy, they snag good domains in front of your nose.
Yup, can confirm. Go into it knowing what you would like it to be, and have a list of tlds you are okay with, plan to purchase once and only once. I like namecheap personally.
