i wouldn't say that. a shocking amount of internet culture originated or was popularized on 4chan and the 4chan users spreading their filth on the other five websites.

Yes but it's irrelevant now. If it disappeared 10 years ago folks would have known about it, the fact that it disappeared now and people are like "what's 4chan" is a good thing
This is like saying that an ichneumonid wasp that laid an egg inside a caterpillar and then died is irrelevant now.
