"The Transit App" is probably not that privacy friendly right? Are there any open source and privacy respecting apps for getting bus/train times by location?

You can select the source of the info (for example set to your local provider api or just use default) and I like the schedule view very much.

I am not a software expert, but it is Foss and doesn't require strange permissions.

Damn. For us unlucky Americans, it only appears to support San Francisco, CA; Chicago, IL; and Austin, TX.

Too bad it's only for a handful of Western countries :( I hoped I wouldn't have to look up bus arrivals in the browser anymore.
