9-0 isn't all that surprising considering the subject matter, tbh the worst I was expecting out of the supreme court on this case was 8-1 maybe 7-2. Judges typically don't like when government agents/agencies blatantly or accidentally fuck someone over, then do nothing to remedy it, unless it involves cops.

To us yes, to them it's a government agency extreme cock up. Which is entirely different to police qualified immunity, as government agencies aren't exactly given the same thing per say.

Judges who are picked by the Federalist Society also don't tend to be big fans of the various government agencies, even if they are cop-adjacent
