Fun fact, the name for the bird in a given language is just whichever country from which the speakers of that language believe the bird originated.
In many languages the name for the bird is basically Kolkata because they thought the bird came from India.
Which if it’s 1620 and the only similar bird you’ve ever seen is a peacock, seems like a fair assumption
