nato going to war with israel is too funny to come true

Turkey invokes article 5, nobody responds, eventually leading to the collapse of NATO lathe-of-heaven

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm going to need you to step away from the lathe

[–] jack@hexbear.net 65 points 1 day ago (2 children)

uhhhh no please continue hitting that lathe like it's your nephew's vape pen

I would prefer for NATO to respond and invade the Zionist entity, overthrowing the Zionist regime, thus ending the occupation.

It would only really work if the US went along with NATO, though. Probably won't happen. Then again, Trump put sanctions on the Zionists so maybe he would take some limited action to show them they have to keep in line?

If the US went along with NATO

Sadly, NATO doing anything is other countries going along with the US empire. It has never been the other way around. Why should they turn against their own country sized military base?

[–] anarchoilluminati@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Totally agree.

I guess the collapse of NATO from lack of response would be the best possible scenario.

Well the Burger Reich keeps threatening us kkkanada with annexation, and I highly doubt that Lithuania or Estonia are going to send troops over to defend us if that ever happens.

In that scenario, the "state building" of a post NATO overthrow of Netanyahu would just install some other coloniser freaks into power. Historically this usually ends up being someone more fucking evil than even the imagined caricature of the old guy.

It has unpredictable consequences!

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 34 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I wonder how exactly liberal brains would break if that happened

[–] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 33 points 1 day ago (1 children)

to the average lib israelis are closer allies than muslims. I doubt they make a distinction between turks and arabs. Turkish people are aware of this as well. However since seppoland decides if and who they may attack I dont think they will actually fight. If they can disregard their masters orders then nato is dead anyway and the whole mena&eu region becomes a free for all.

I doubt they make a distinction between turks and arabs.

My chud family member hates Turkey as if it's 1450 and she's a peasant in Austria. Chuds and libs are so brain broken by hating Muslims, I'd wager the EU and NATO will just ignore an Israeli war on Turkey

[–] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well the average chud doesnt get to decide policy and losing turkey means losing incirlik and the bosporus unless they believe that Israel can occupy and keep the whole of Turkey stable enough. Turkey is too valuable a buffer zone, the figurative entrance to the "walled garden". NATO is not gonna let their attack dog maul their sentry. If Israel ever gets to attack Turkey it means Israel has broken with the west in which case I dont think they are going to make it past the south-east taurus mountains, if they manage to make it past the border at all, since they have to fight on their own and everybody around them hates them.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 7 points 1 day ago

Sure enough, but with the current crop of fascists that want to kill muslims in charge of euro countries, they don't logic very well. I guess we'll see.
