I want to think this whole thread is just whimsical, but I have to know for sure - y'all get that it's future Earth, right?
Interesting theory.
Still not sure if you're serious, but check out the rest of the movies or read this.
In the original novel it's an alien planet where apes dominate humans, but in the movies humans in the near future on Earth use intelligent apes as slaves until the apes revolt and take over. Eventually a nuclear apocalypse destroys that civilization, which is followed by the less advanced one seen in the first movie. Rod Serling came up with the ending that made it future Earth.
And in the last movie they set off a doomsday weapon that destroys the whole solar system
Wow, that's some serious doomsday shit. Tbh I burned out on the franchise and haven't seen that one.
I think they are talking about the original set of movies. Ya thought it was only the new ones that got milked? Fuck no the original one got milked hard.
