There's been talk lately about opening China up, removing the firewall etc. China needs to be careful of this. If I were to disrupt China one way to do it would be with tech startups that aim to "disrupt" industries by forming middleman apps that destroy all competition and consume the industry into a monopoly. Much like Discord did to voicechat. Much like uber did to taxi companies. Much like Justeat did to restaurants. Etc etc etc. There are a lot of industries that haven't yet been disrupted by tech and it is easy for these mega billionaires to run startup apps at a loss to destroy entire industries until their app has monopoly and then turn profit afterwards.

If competition in China is great, you don't want these. Unless of course you intentionally allow it to happen and then nationalise the monopoly that finally forms after the industry has been consumed and then maintain and manage it at its least profitable level and highest public good.

These things aren't usually popular because they provide a much better consumer experience - once you take out all the aspects that generate huge losses
