This sounded great until the part where you can only read the ebooks using their app and you can’t transfer to kobo/kindle. That is a dealbreaker for me unfortunately.

Yup. They're not selling eBooks, they're leasing licenses to eBooks. Vastly different.

🙁 Crap, didn't see that part.

EDIT: Also, another thing I hate about most sites that sell ebooks is that they're rarely explicit about what their file formats are.
