4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source.

Posts which titles don’t match the source won’t be removed, but the autoMod will notify you, and if your title misrepresents the original article, the post will be deleted. If the site changed their headline, the bot might still contact you, just ignore it, we won’t delete your post.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners.

The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

What's the equivalent easy(ish) to use / post replacement for them?

[–] rovingnothing29@lemmy.world 16 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (2 children)

Friendica for Facebook

Pixelfed for Instagram

Loops for Tiktok maybe, Haven't tried either though

Choice of XMPP/Signal/Element for whatsapp

Your average person, let alone tech illiterate boomers, is never going to hop on to federated services.

[–] activ8r@sh.itjust.works 15 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Except all the people switching to Bluesky?

The issue isn't federation, it's the onboarding and "style" of social media.

Also I don't think there is a Facebook equivalent is there? If people weren't on Reddit they aren't gonna care about Lemmy. The Facebook crowd need a good alternative before they will migrate.

[–] grysbok@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 10 hours ago

My queer FB friends have been moving to Bluesky, which is frustrating because I've been on Mastodon for a year. But, whatever. I can deal with two accounts.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 10 points 19 hours ago

As-is, no, but an app with a slick dumbed down interface that all we nerds already here despise and equally slick on-boarding flow that hides all the "technical" details could

[–] rovingnothing29@lemmy.world 1 points 18 hours ago

Just need to frame it right. Facebook is full of <insert country they don't like> propaganda, frendica is much harder to not.

Pixelfed is also good enough that Zuck is actively blocking it, so we've got one.

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 4 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

yeah, lemme just sit on friendica all by myself because im the only person in my life that knows what any of this is, no one is moving to these that has a large presence on the meta versions

[–] 0ops@lemm.ee 2 points 13 hours ago

This is the first I've heard of it and I've been here since the Reddit exodus

[–] Fitik@fedia.io 1 points 13 hours ago

Okay, but if you're Friendica user you can natively interact with ActivityPub services like Lemmy or Mastodon, and there are addons enabled on some instances adding BlueSky and Tumblr as well, so if you know anyone using them, you'll be able to interact with them

Also if you're interested in following people you don't know, there's Friendica directory, so you'll not be alone

For kids there is TinyBeans. That's half the reason my older family uses FB anyway... and no way in hell am I putting my kid on FB.
