I want mud though! I definitely have my eye on this game though.

I have my eye on Offroad Dead Planet too once improvement on performance happens, it is rock crawling with some really nice looking suspension mechanics but with broader goals and challenges.

Out Of Ore looks like it might have some pretty cool offroad driving feel even though/because? it is a mining simulator but I haven't tried it yet

Also I have to recommend Offroad Mania , the softbody tire physics are great, the graphics are stylishly minimal and the many offroad challenge levels are genuinely challenging in physically realistic ways. Think of as marble blast ultra but with a rock crawling jeep instead of a marble...

Main Assembly is an obscure sandbox vehicle builder with physics puzzles. Abandoned but feature complete and some of the workshop buggies (sand crawlers, monster trucks, trophy trucks etc..) handle better than any other offroad game I have tried at least on hard terrain with little mud. Worth it for 4 bucks.

Lastly let us not forget about the venerable and yes still under slow but steady development 2005 blast from the past Free and Open Source physics offroading gem Rigs Of Rods

Ok well now I have to recommend the also FOSS scifi rally racing game Stunt Rally 3. It is also under active development and while for the most part it is more arcadey the physics for high speed dirt road rally racing is actually damn good with nice simulation of grip mechanics on each tire independently.
