Why is nobody talking about the fucking double spine?

Or am I somehow stupid and interpreted that fucked up graphic wrong - if that even is possibly, because so much is wrong with that?

[–] Dalvoron@lemm.ee 65 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I was distracted by the penis - that baby is going to hurt coming out

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 31 points 7 months ago (1 children)

It's okay, if you follow the path, the baby is gonna get shit out.

[–] Joeffect@lemmy.world 1 points 7 months ago (2 children)

A part of child birth is making sure that the baby doesn't get poop all over it... Basically just the same shit different hole

[–] Shou@lemmy.world 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

On the contrary. A shit, blood and piss shower correlates with a better immunity. Babies born via c-section are more prone to infections. That shower of vile is our welcome to the world.

[–] udon@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

On the plus side, it probably only gets better from there!

[–] dandylion@lemmy.today 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Where I'm from it's tradition to smear some shit on a new baby's forehead.

You have to start early if you want a child to be able to cope with growing up in New Jersey.

[–] DrT@lemmy.world 21 points 7 months ago (2 children)

That's anatomically correct. These are the spinous processes cut in half.

[–] Venator@lemmy.nz 9 points 7 months ago (2 children)

It's weird that the baby isn't cut in half too.

[–] anton@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 7 months ago

Must be twins.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 3 points 7 months ago

For $50 we can cut the baby up into as many halves as you like.

I'm actually not sure if I'm falling for a joke here, but that's how I remember that a spine looks like

Even if it's a section view, there shouldn't be 2 of them... Or maybe I just don't see it correctly...

Edit: ah, now I somehow see it. But still, it doesn't really look correct with the spinal cord like splitting it. Although given that this would be a bit hard to visualise in a 2D slice...
I'm still not convinced that this is actually correct ;-)

[–] canitendtherabbits@lemmy.world 8 points 7 months ago (1 children)

But the penis you’re okay with.

[–] naeap@sopuli.xyz 2 points 7 months ago

That one didn't seem double on first sight

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 5 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Your marrow needs to go somewhere, also the spinal cord. Your pic has it simply from the side, not a cutaway

[–] naeap@sopuli.xyz 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

True that, but then the baby would also need to be sectioned, no?

But, I want to give up now, I get that I've viewed it wrong

[–] Zink@programming.dev 7 points 7 months ago

C’mon now, everybody knows you open a pregnant dude like an avocado.

It's the reflection in the glass 👍
