why would that even be beneficial for Facebook?
Because they’re reaching a point where the amount and quality of user generated content is not enough to retain the remaining users.
they have 3 billion users though??
3 billion registered accounts is not the same as 3 billion individual active users. Most people don’t delete their account when they stop using a platform.
