Ew! 1080p
But 4k takes so much storage😭
Easy, buy more HDDs :D
I just bought 2x 20 TB Red pros... their at half capacity right now. I do not have that kind of money (or NAS) to do that every month😅
Lol, are they mirrored or did you actually pull 20TB in a month?
Mirrored, but still😅
Yeah, I'm counting on 1080 upscale improving.
Yeah. 4 times the resolution, 10 times the size.
This is an issue of the past for me since I started using Real Debrid with Kodi and Stremio.
I have a good backup amount in 1080p in Plex (physical and debrid symlinks), but when I want to experience 4K films properly I head up to Stremio or Kodi.
Yeah, that's, like, incredibly wasteful. 720p is fine. ~~Where are the 540p ripcorders at?~~
Don't talk to me and my 4K collection ever again!
How could I? Even saying "hello world" in your format is like, what, 35 MB?
Yes, 35MB of glorious sharpness, 50 if its also HDR
You're not going to like this, but I have been encoding my own B-tier collection in 1080p at roughly BluRay quality with HDR & Uncompressed audio. A-Tier movies stay 4K Remux, but the B-squad gets the downgrade (but I'm not willing to give up HDR / Atmos)
Yeah, usually you don't really notice a huge difference betwen FHD and 4K, especially with TV upscaling it anyway
I love that we can reencoding the 4k HDR to 1080 while we retain the HDR color information. Looks great to me while saving a ton of space.
I mean, if your monitor or TV is 1080p, why should you waste so much more storage to little-to-no visible improvement?
Because you could buy a proper 4K Tv any time now :D
For about € 1600 non-smart or € 900 smart in NL.
Nah, 1080p is good enough, even moreso at a metre or 2 from the screen!
