Summary

Masked neo-Nazis marched through Columbus, Ohio’s Short North neighborhood on Saturday, displaying swastika flags and making racist and antisemitic statements.

Police are investigating, and no arrests have been reported.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Columbus officials condemned the display, emphasizing that hate and bigotry have no place in the state.

The incident follows a similar demonstration in Michigan last week, where masked protesters displayed Nazi flags outside a performance of The Diary of Anne Frank.

Can you elaborate on this?

I am not American (although I have lived there). I am just curious.

I am an American (and Jewish) and I have no fucking clue what they're talking about. It has gotten worse and worse and worse.

I hope you are able to stay safe where you are. A lot of New England states prepared for an influx of people needing medical care when roe vs wade was overturned. Some blatantly said they will not cooperate with states like Texas and will not release people's medical records.

I'm hoping if things escalate they'll follow that trend and help people get out. There's been some states like Vermont and Connecticut that have had a decrease in population over the past 10 years so there's room for more people should it come to that.

I have dual citizenship with the UK, which is where we plan to escape to, but New England is Plan B if I can't find a job.

That's good to hear! The UK is probably a lot safer than staying stateside. But if you find job prospects better in New England we welcome you!

The roads are kinda crappy, and we still have some trump supporters, but it's definitely muted compared to other parts of the country.

We have good friends in Baltimore (a queer married couple) so it's a better plan B than nothing.
