As the San Francisco district attorney and the attorney general of California, Harris was the first woman, the first African American, and the first Asian American to hold each office.
More, more!
Born in Oakland, California on October 20, 1964, the eldest of two children born to Shyamala Gopalan, a cancer researcher from India, and Donald Harris, an economist from Jamaica.
Not just any economist, one very highly regarded in his field. He's also made no secret of his being a Marxist and I'm amazed they haven't been making more hay out of that.
On the other hand, Jamaica has been getting better and better economically because of his ideas, so maybe they shouldn't.
They have been trying to make a big deal about this.
I don't even think dude was a "marxist". He just studied/researched marxism like any reasonable economist.
I don't want to pay to read his entire paper, but from the preview page, it looks like he was at least sympathetic to Marx's ideas.

Fuck yeah, FlyingSquid! Jam your knowledge into my brain hole!
Most people who have suffered oppression choose not to become the oppressor.
How would that apply to Trump? Never once oppressed, yet wants to be "Day-1 dictator". Is it just people who have had privileged upbringings that grow up to become fascists? It does kinda seem that way the more i think about it...
