Live dnb mixes generally, or occasionally in bass heavy tracks (something abrasive like G Jones)

Fair enough, yeah it’s generally a nod to the jamaican influence in UK soundsystem and rave culture

Another one you’ll hear a lot is the weird horn sample from the intro of ray keith’s terrorist (the fat clean reese bass just before the drums come in is sampled all over the place too)

I was playing call of duty last night (I know) and I realized that there is a ~500ms sample of the wheel up signal that plays every time someone gets a killstreak. I feel like I'm descending into madness now - Pandora's box has been opened. Where else will this sample show up - is no audio safe?

Mate I’m Crim in MP… nothing to be ashamed of haha! No fucking way!? In MWIII?

[–] datavoid@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yup, MWIII! Maybe I'm losing it, but I swear they used a single cycle of it quietly to notify an event (i'm not 100% sure what the trigger is, i thought kill streaks but it might actually be related to dying)

Haha I’ll have to listen out for it!

I’ve been hooked on this tune for a couple of weeks and it’s got both the wheel up signal and the ray keith squeak lol
