    Its more likely caching.

    Pagecache doesn't count towards used ram.

    Also unused ram is wasted ram

    Uninstall ram sticks to not waste them.

    Yes it won't count used ram. But the other person has a "feeling" that linux uses the same ram even when he quit the apps. So that may count.

    Use RAM efficiently. There is no point in freeing all ram
