Is this viable for gaming? How's the resolution compared to a regular 4k tv?
Well it is 85" big with 1080p resolution at 60fps and a projector. So it will look terrible compared to 85" 4k 120fps with light darks and will need a dark room for decent colors.
It would be fine for retro games or pre-HDR games, but don't expect anything modern to look as good as a 4k QLED with microdimming.
You can spend 2-3x as much on a 4k projector setup compared to an 85" 4k QLED commercial display that won't look terrible with the lights on.
I don't nor will I ever play competitive FPS shooters on it but I cannot imagine another genre I wouldn't gleefully play on this monster screen.
