I saw a pull on Mastodon and only 4% said that they were under 18
I mean, I don't want to use a platform to follow users, I want to follow a community. If the reddit exodus happened when I was a minor, I would've migrated to Lemmy too. Lemmy isn't the same as Mastodon. A twitter style social media is just terrible, in my opinion.
That is to be expected. Most teens are on mainstream media. They're still young, their friends are there and are still not fed up of the ads and all the BS noise. When you start getting older, you urge for more than just brainless memes and social circle drama, so you start looking for new places.
