Wen said the new disks could someday allow individuals and families to set up their own databases with minimal fuss.

I'd be a little paranoid having all my data on one disk. One bad disk crash and its all gone. I'd have to have at least two to make a backup.

Always practice 3-2-1 if you really want to be safe. 3 copies, 2 different mediums, 1 off-site.

That's the ideal of course. In practice you can't always be that thorough.

Redundant copies are a good thing to have if you're interested in preserving data long term.

i always practice just deleting all my shit randomly and then realizing I didn't need any of that shit after all
