MBFC link for anyone else unfamiliar with CNA.

I'm always sceptical of any claims on that site. It continues to label the ABC as centre-left, despite the fact that independent analysis has found it does an incredibly good job of maintaining its statutory non-partisanship, or possibly even leans slightly to the right.

Doesn't it get its bias ratings from user votes? Terribly subject to gaming.

Probably american-based like the other commenter says. The American left is the global center-right iirc.

Left and right are relative and vary over time and space. They base it on US politics. Many Democrats would be conservatives here in Canada. They have a poll on the site but it doesn't have anything to do with their assessment.

Left-right bias is the least important thing they're assessing though. Looking at ABC, I care that they have press freedom, editorial independence, have never failed a fact check, and are used as a fact-checker. I'd use their credibility rating if choosing one metric.
