Haven't they had time to count? What happened to 1,400? I've been wondering if that number would drop, to me that makes it look like the Israeli government was looking for a reason/excuse to do this.
I'm also suspicious of the Gaza Health Authority's numbers. Of course, it would be impossible to get an accurate count in Gaza right now anyway.
I wouldnt give too much consideration to that. +-200 is not that much in such a situation of uncertainty and chaos.
I heard that number for like a month wondering if it would change.
Who knows maybe I'm reading too much into it and the guy was just saying "over 1,000" as a general way of talking about it.
They first stated around 1400 around. three weeks in they corrected it to 1139 as the official deathtoll.
With people missing, but presumed dead, uncertainty about people taken hostage, people in critical conditions in hospitals and quick reports of rough numbers that is plausible without malicious intent.
On the flipside in Gaza the 24000 could be a bit higher or lower too. But there is also another 7000-10000 that are most likely buried dead under the rubble of destroyed houses.
