well I'm unsurprised this happened
regimes are like narcissists, sometimes good decisions are made but are more of an event by luck as both are fraught with contradictions and fallacies
it's like security, you typically want the smartest people at the forefront but due to confirmation bias you get dunces at some companies cause the CEO was looking for "Yes men"
it's a bit unfortunate as prior to today's news, people were cheering as China had unexpectedly made a great decision to kneecap loot boxes and gatcha games, now it seems they're turn tables doubling down and kneecapping themselves
if they instead decide to fire and make Feng Shixin their scapegoat I'd still say that a terrible decision is being made as it's similar to Twitter and Facebook laying off their ethics and safety team, Facebook and Twitter before then was still trash but after the layoffs they became even worse than they are now
