In Memphis, the big announcement for weeks has been that the National Guard was coming, and the assumption was that it would look like what happened in D.C.

A lot of people in camo standing around for no reason other than to intimidate a population and create photo ops. Meanwhile there seemed to be some federal agencies that also "helped" by harassing and arresting people minding their own business.

In Memphis there has been an insane crackdown of federal and random state agencies (like the highway patrol and department of Wildlife??) going hog wild abusing authority (just like Stephen Miller encouraged them to).

Helicopters circling the city for hours on end, federal and state agents in unmarked cars accompanying state police and highway patrol, following people for long distances, coming up with excuses to pull people over, pursuing high speed chases through the city when people don't pull over, and making hundreds of arrests in just a few days.

Memphis police recently held a city meeting and revealed that the national guard isn't really in Memphis yet. The few guardsmen that are there, are basically just scoping things out for the real deployment that is set for sometime in the near future.

So I'm curious, is it a similar story in Portland right now? What kind of operations are you really seeing?

OregonLive is known for gating links after the fact, so here's the important bit for folks living under the Sinclair or Nexstar umbrellas:

"If you live in a broadcast region run by the Sinclair or Nexstar media companies, you can only watch the full Tuesday episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Hulu (free trial) streaming the day after it airs, or you can watch Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue and more clips from the show on YouTube shortly after it airs (this should be some time after 8:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Tuesday)."

tl;dr:

“Effective Wednesday, September 17, pharmacists in Oregon will have the authority to continue to administer COVID vaccines without a prescription,” said Dean Sidelinger of the Oregon Health Authority, in a video press conference.
