Critic Reviews

CGMagazine - Jordan Biordi - 9 / 10

ANTONBLAST is silly, chaotic, eclectic and above all FUN!

Console Creatures - Bobby Pashalidis - 8 / 10

Undoubtedly, Antonblast is one of those few platformers you'll remember for ages.

DualShockers - Monica Phillips - 8.5 / 10

Everything together makes for one of the most fun games I've played this year and an easy recommendation to any platforming fanatic.

Evilgamerz - Christiaan Ribbens - Dutch - 7.6 / 10

With its exaggerated cartoon style, chaotic gameplay, and nods to classic platformers, Antonblast manages to leave a unique impression. It may lack some finesse in the controls and technical support, but the combination of nostalgia and original ideas makes it a title worth checking out. If you enjoyed the recently released and equally insane Pizza Tower, then chances are that Antonblast will also appeal to you. The demo is available on Steam now, so give it a try and see if this wild rollercoaster is for you.

Final Weapon - Saras Rajpal - 4 / 5

Antonblast is an incredibly fun time. The premise is unique, the gameplay is incredibly addicting, and the visuals are beautiful. Further, the inspirations that led to its creation are honored respectfully and are used, not to create a cheap nostalgic response, but to create an experience fun for all players. While the game has some bugs, difficulty spikes, and control issues, I highly recommend it, regardless of whether or not you're a fan of the genre.

Gamer Escape - Aaron Botts - 7 / 10

I was relieved to find a fun and funky game that just wants to have fun and let the player wade in its weirdness. It might have its annoyances (of which there are a few), but Antonblast is a fine example of a solid indie action platformer. It doesn’t hit many of the heights of its influences and contemporaries, but is a game that’s worth plowing through in its own right. If you can handle some of the rougher aspects of the game, this is something that I can reccommend. Platformer junkies, indie fans, and people who enjoy weird and wacky platformers will find Antonblast be something worth blasting through.

GamesRadar+ - Oscar Taylor-Kent - 4 / 5

Antonblast explosively reinvents the destructive energy of Wario Land, delivering high-energy action that has you demolishing levels at speed while also rewarding precise play with a serious sense of momentum. Boss fights slow the pace a bit, but this is a front-to-back thrillride that you'll keep coming back to master.

God is a Geek - Lyle Pendle - 9.5 / 10

ANTONBLAST is a sensational Wario style platformer with a flow unlike anything else, but you'll need to put the time in to master it.

Hobby Consolas - Daniel Quesada - Spanish - 86 / 100

One of the most lighthearted and well-measured platformers we remember in a long time. If you're into frenetic heroes and explosive jumps, don't hesitate.

Kakuchopurei - Jonathan Leo - 80 / 100

It ain't as spectacular as Pizza Tower -a fair comparison given how good that 2023 indie gem was- but Antonblast is still a damn fine 2D platforming and action title that stands on its own red little feet.

Slant Magazine - Aaron Riccio - 4 / 5

Indeed, a single level like the Mad Mall feels more inventive—between you having to scramble through a ball pit maze, race on a Segway-like device, and solve a shooting gallery puzzle—than the entirety of other platformers.

ZdobywcyGier.eu - Paweł Bortkiewicz - Polish - 9 / 10

ANTONBLAST jumped out of the blue two years after its kickstarter campaign and definitely showed what it was capable of. It is a great platformer game in the style of the Wario Land series, which presents this gameplay model in its own style, while not being afraid to take risky directions. Without a doubt, this is one of the best platformer games of this year.

As the title implies, I've never been a skilled gamer, and many of the games I play out to be downright punishing for me. I love sites like HowLongToBeat.com but was always shocked that there wasn't a similar site for game difficulties, so I decided to create one :D

How Difficult Is It?

There aren't a ton of ratings at the moment: a very small number from testing, and a handful from some of my close friends that have added some. The website will thrive the more game difficulty ratings are added, so if the site is interesting to you, please add some ratings yourself!

It also has a rankings page to find the most difficult and easiest games, with custom filters for release year, genre, platform, and keywords. Let me know if there are any bugs/issues, or features you'd like to see!

Note, the site is completely free, ad-free, and doesn't even have a "buy-me-a-coffee"/patreon link. It's free. Enjoy it! (and no, I'm not collecting data to sell. I wouldn't even know how to begin to do that.)

FAQ:

Rating is subjective. How do you handle that?

That's the whole point of aggregate sites! Rather than rely on one dude/dudette's opinion on some random subreddit, you see what the average of many gamer's experiences is. And while one person's "difficult" may be another person's "easy", the two gamers should still rate games relative to one another in the same way (e.g. Game A will be more difficult than Game B for both of them, even if one gamer thinks they're both easy)

How do you account for different difficulty modes?

Choose the difficulty mode when you rate! While the main rating score averages all ratings together, a game's page shows you it's per-difficulty mode stats (including a breakdown showing all the votes)/

There can be a lot of reasons a game is difficult. How do you handle that?

You can add tags to each game from a pre-defined list of tags. I'll refine these terms over time.

Game Information

Game Title: Snow Bros. Wonderland

Release Date: November 28, 2024

Platforms:

Multiplayer: 4 Player Local Co-op

Trailers:

Developer: Tatsujin, Bitwave Games, Toaplan

Publisher: Clear River Games, Toaplan

Review Aggregator:

Metacritic – 80% - 5 Critic Reviews

Critic Reviews

Video Chums - 84%

Snow Bros. Wonderland is simply one of the best co-op games that you can play right now thanks to its varied and rewarding campaign as well as its wonderfully adorable presentation that's so cute, it'll make you want to clang Nick and Tom's oversized heads together.

Digitally Downloaded - 80%

Perhaps part of the reason I have a higher tolerance for this game is not just that I love the base property, but I also love those old N64 bad 3D platformer efforts. Remember Chameleon Twist on the N64? Probably not, as it didn’t exactly win over the critics and was actually one of the most expensive N64 games. I loved it though. Or what about Glover? Or Bomberman 64? Snow Bros. Wonderland is a bit more modern than those titles, but you’re probably right that it has a dash of that heritage and tradition in it. And so you are probably right that the audience that is going to love Snow Bros Wonderland is vanishingly small. Unfortunately for you, you’ve landed in the middle of a Venn diagram where one circle is “Game Critic” and the other is “Snow Bros. Bro”. And so now your name is going to be attached to a glowing score for the game into perpetuity, because I really did love every moment of this game.

Movies Games and Tech - 80%

Snow Bros. Wonderland is a blast from the past with a modern aesthetic. This 3D platformer combines puzzles, fighting, and a touch of magic. Moreover, it is great with friends. If you love the original, you'll adore the latest title in the franchise.

Hobby Consolas - 78%

We are surprised on how a solid game mechanic has evolved into a really enjoyable 3D experience. Even with some control and camera flaws, this is a solid and friendly adventure, specially for multiplayer.

Tech-Gaming - 78%

The only nagging omission from Nick and Tom Jr.’s outing is context. Without the inclusion of any of the original coin-op, console, or handheld versions of Snow Bros., players might not immediately appreciate the effort that went into this adaptation. Sure, it’s probably another one of those instances of licensing restrictions. But with Wonderland, the Bros uphold their legacy as Bubble Bobble’s best rival. Why not honor the Snow family tree?
