Great system for not too modern laptop but still capable for simple daily tasks. For someone who likes classic desktop view like me, some gnome tweaks were necessary. Tried also KDE but it didn't suit me at all.

PS. I know Edge is a big turn off for many

Is this true or did I not understand what it said on the github? How will this affect atomic desktops? If this is just a minor misunderstanding please explain better as I don't really understand what it means. Please dont downvote for "being stupid".

I work with manufacturing, and recently switched the entire company to Fedora Silverblue / Kinoite (Depending on the users preferences) (A few people such as myself are using Fedora Plasma Spin). We have been running Linux in the workforce for over 8 months at this point.

All of our workstation in our production line were also switched as well (To Raspberry Pi 5's). Needless to say, we are pretty much Microsoft free.

We were able to breathe life back into perfectly fine computers that did not meet the Windows 11 requirement, and after doing research about our software, we were able to determine, we did not need Microsoft AT ALL. We just had to change our mindset.

The Fedora Team / Red Hat has done such an amazing job creating such an easy and comfortable system to use that adoption of my users was almost too perfect. My heart goes out to you for helping make this a reality.

(Note: I work with people who barely know how to turn a computer on and it was easy for them to understand)

I have often been requested to Upgrade their personal laptops from Windows 10 to Fedora. With company approval, I started a class for our users and was authorized within reason to put Linux on their laptops. Obviously, legal took care of making sure everything was fine and users had to do some agreement, but that's companies for you.

Just did my first distro hop, after being tired of OpenSUSE not updating Nvidia drivers on their rolling release. I mean, they're still on 550! On a rolling release! D=

AND HOLY SH!T, is this system smooth.

The live USB installer was delightfully fast and easy, dnf is blazing fast, the packages (at least the ones I use) are very up-to-date, the Nvidia driver installation was brain-dead easy, and best of all, I'm loving how many external software sources explicitly support fedora, I didn't need to compile anything from source yet, thank god.

I'll still take a while to get used to gnome, as my first experience was KDE, but so far, so good.

All in all, I set up my system up for use in less than 2 hours.

I think I'll be staying here for a while.

Or should I go with something else? I know that you can customize any distro as you like, but how is the package manager? Are there issues with the updates? Is it fast? I interest myself in networking, system administration and cybersecurity, so are there good tools?

I have 2880x1800 screen, and use 2 external monitors. One 1920x1080 vertical and other 1600x900 horizontal. Maybe any issues with the resolutions?

I know it’s stupid question, but I had to ask, since I’ve been planning to switch away from ubuntu for a while now. I still want to try Arch, but not using the ./archinstall haha.

Edit: I have ZenBook 14 OLED with Core i7 1260p, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe, no GPU.

Edit2: I am definitely switching, if I find something better, I can always distro hop. Cheers
