Greetings from the Mozilla Add-ons team!

Mozilla has upgraded the signing for Firefox extensions, themes, dictionaries, and language packs to provide a stronger signature for a more secure add-ons ecosystem. This upgrade may impact add-on versions uploaded to https://addons.mozilla.org (AMO) differently depending on the date they were uploaded and whether they are self-distributed or distributed via AMO. Please see below for which add-ons will be affected.

For developers of add-on versions hosted on AMO that were uploaded prior to April 5, 2019.

  • No action will be required; the most recent public version of your add-on will be re-signed automatically April 25, 2024 resulting in a version bump

  • Developers will receive a confirmation email once the auto re-signing of their add-on is complete

For developers of add-on versions self-distributed that were uploaded prior to April 5, 2019.

  • Action will be required as Mozilla is not able to automatically re-sign unlisted versions since the distribution is controlled by the developer and thus the AMO team cannot determine which version(s) to re-sign

  • Action required: To continue to distribute any self-hosted versions uploaded to AMO prior to Apr 5, 2019, developers will need to submit new versions to AMO.

Self-distributed add-on versions that are not re-submitted by Apr 15 will no longer be installable on any version of Firefox 127: Nightly (Apr 15), Beta (May 13) or Release (Jun 11). Add-ons installed prior to Firefox 127 will continue to work for now, but we ask that you encourage your users to upgrade to the new, re-signed version of your add-on once you have re-submitted it to AMO. Any previous versions that are no longer in use do not need to be re-submitted to AMO.

Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any questions.

Regards,

Mozilla Add-ons team

I should not be a few keystrokes away from accidentally deleting all of today's entries with no confirmation if I'm sure, and no way to recover them, even if I close the browser in the same second. I don't even know which ones I hit.

For instance, I watch a video on Shout Factory and then pause, close the tab and when I go back to the link it goes back to where I left off.

I got some random selection of Bookmarks suddenly lost from Firefox Bookmark Folders, some Folders entirely cleared... I'm I the only one?!

I was wondering if anyone knows is the Reading List from the mobile version is available on Desktop? I can't seem to find it, unless it in settings, and I'm just blind.

I have to use Microsoft Teams for work. I use the web version with firefox. The audio portion works just fine and the video portion works too. But the screen-share function does not work. I can't see anyone else's screen when they share it.

Firefox always has a notice when I start up MS Teams (attached the image to this post). But when I click on the "Learn More" button, the bar just disappears without taking me anywhere new. So I'm unable to learn more. Does anyone know what plugin I need or where to download it? I've done a couple of searches and haven't come up with anything helpful so I'm hoping someone can help me solve this problem.

Operating system: Linux Mint Package manager: APT

We are here talking about updating Firefox, which comes pre-installed with the OS.

While other packages go up to 13 MB/s, Firefox downloads remain at a maximum of 500 kB.

Get:1 http://packages.linuxmint.com virginia/upstream amd64 firefox amd64 124.0.2+linuxmint1+virginia [74.3 MB]

Should I switch to different source?

Very recently I started noticing something weird every time I launched Firefox. Whether it's a normal session or private session it always happens. When I launch the application there is a small pop-up window that appears with squares of colors, like primary colors, blue, red, yellow. It appears for a fraction of a second. Has anyone else noticed this?

For example if I were to go to Facebook, you will ask for my location data, and I will say no and never ask again.

Then I go back and it just keeps asking.

Basically every website I visit this happens to.

Is there not a way to just have firefox absolutely stop Facebook from asking again?

Thanks so much for your help

@firefox I'm using this extension called New Tab Override and just saw that the dev complained a few years back about how it wasn't possible to highlight the url of a newly opened tab and there hasn't really been any recent response, will I ever see this? So far I had to reprogram my brain to type Ctrl + A right after the Cttl + T

This is the second such email I have received recently. Seems legit but I don't recognize the domain in the link to sign, and it seems like the people who make Firefox would know that the people who use Firefox would be hesitant to click. IDGI. Anyone else getting these?

Edit 2024-04-10: Got a new email today and it appears all the links now go to links dot mozilla dot org. I won't flatter myself that this post had anything to do with that, but maybe the same thought occurred to someone at Mozilla. Nice. ✌️

I'm signed into Firefox on 4 devices. I can send tabs between all of them except from my work computer to my phone (other direction works). I can see the tabs open on my computer from my phone and tap to open it on my phone, but if I "send tab" from computer to phone, it never arrives.

I tried signing out on my phone and back in. Didn't work.

What else can I do to troubleshoot?

And, please @firefox/ @mozilla, remove those tracking links from #MozillaPocket. With that, you bring discredit on yourself.

My apologies to the Bugzilla team for wasting their time holding my hand on this one. Would have honestly never noticed the little "HTML5" info icon to the left of the URL bar though without their help.

The select-after-closing-current addon is a way to pullout a random tab out of a window, which will not change the tab that was visible in that window.

However, what it does is any closed tab, it will select the previously seen tab no matter what.

The reason for my question, I would like to know if it is possible for the add-on to have a different behaviour for closed tabs from pulled out tabs.

I wish, when I close a tab, to always select the tab to the right. But when I pullout a tab, I wish to always see the tab that was visible before the pullout.
