This decision is even more difficult for me, as I don't even feel a sense of accomplishment for getting tasks done

[–] zloubida@sh.itjust.works 37 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I don't feel a sense of accomplishment, just relief.

[–] affenlehrer@feddit.org 20 points 1 week ago

Exactly but the relief is more relieving if you avoid the task until it's almost too late.

I've slowly built up the ability to feel accomplishment for some tasks, but it's still far more fleeting than it seems to be for nuerotypicals.

It's mostly spite driven too, which I don't think is healthy. "Fuck you Microsoft! I'm better!" "Fuck you software vendor! I'm better!"

That’s how I excel at work, honestly. One of the few ways I can motivate myself is if I have someone I’m beating in a contest that only I know about.

Lies, option one does NOT result in a feeling of accomplishment. Just cold dread that I will have to do this task again.

What is this feeling of accomplishment that everyone always talks about? I just finish a task and then start worrying about the next task.

[–] twinnie@feddit.uk 9 points 1 week ago

As soon as you finish a task something else comes up.

I like this comic, but damn that font confuses my brain for an unknown reason.

[–] Stamets@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago

I've seen this before and I always find it odd and amusing in a strange way. That font, if I remember correctly, is designed for people with dyslexia. Personally I don't have an issue with it (the font or dyslexia) but I do actually like it and find it pleasing to read. Always wondered what it was that set people off slightly differently.

It's been helpful to recognize it's not that it will be more stressful later, but that I literally don't have the energy to do it now.

Well I mean helpful in understanding it. Not helpful in getting it done, or preventing the later stress.

I am literally here posting instead of doing cleaning I have to do because I have guests coming... I can put it off for 15 more mins.

-Go find appropriate driver for soundcard.

=>or we could launch steam and have fun. Wait, even better what about gog? Man I wanna play Warhammer Dark Omen so bad. You know what, let’s head over to their forums and ask for a Linux version. Come to think of it, what would you need to run it? Could I run it on wine? Dark Omen doesn’t even run properly on Dosbox, is that one revival project on YouTube going anywhere? Still dead…damn.

And that’s how far I am trying to get grapheneOs running on that one phone.

I need a tasks app that somehow fixes this problem.

[–] FuyuhikoDate@feddit.org 2 points 1 week ago

I feel personally attacked

[–] Aganim@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

What's that, "feeling of accomplishment"? I'm afraid I only ever feel the relief of a crushing pressure that's been building for far too long.

[–] billwashere@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

God I wish this wasn’t so true.
