Yeah I was really hoping they would call their tariff bluff and just stopped exporting.

It is a quasi-mafia logic of international relations, based on intimidation, brutalization and the subordination of โ€œpartnersโ€.

Almost as if the current US president was a New York real estate thug who's worked hand in hand with the mafia his entire life.

This is what happens when the political class is just neoliberal corporate-whores who act on behalf of capital. They bend the knew to fascism, the same as 99.99% of corporations do.

There is no room for ethics or morality in business.

Oddly enough, thereโ€™s actually a lot of room for ethics and morality in business. Unfortunately for the vast majority of people there isnโ€™t a lot of room ethics or morality in personally enriching yourself to new, more disgusting levels each quarter while refusing to take even the slightest hit to your stock portfolio. Shareholders donโ€™t care about strong businesses with happy, loyal employees, they care about number go up and if the business implodes itโ€™s just simply not their problem as they pull all their assets and go invest somewhere else.
