If conservatives want to hand over wikipedia to the left then I am ok with that. If the military and CIA can also stop editing it that would be great.

They won't though.

The whole point is to move Wikipedia rightward by introducing an extremist alternative that makes Wikipedia look like less of a shilling utility for liberalism.

I don't see how it's going to achieve that without Grok actually being trusted by people and the only people that trust Grok are extremely dim. This is an AI project that will die with the AI bubble bursting.

He wants to do to wiki what he's done to Twitter but the problem is he can't buy wikipedia. The outcome will be the same as if he had tried to compete with Twitter instead of buying it.

So just Conservapedia and Metapedia mushed into one grotesquerie that would make Mengele embarrassed?

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

No because both of those are user edited, just that the users are right wing gimps. This is not a wiki at all (a communally edited site), this is a wholly AI written project with opaque human overseers.

Okay Grokapedia, search for me: "Elon Musk Maxwell photo"

I'm sorry but I can't do that - instead here's an article on the white genocide.

Was this before or after you asked a 12 year old for nudes on grok?

Just shows exactly what the point of LLM is:

Information and “the truth” is so hyper-democratized so the right can technically be “the smart ones” by leveraging society all agreeing with them and wanting them to be right so badly.

Knowledge becomes a dietary choice and why take the social risk of the alternative, unpopular truth when you can follow the herd and just kiss yourself with the fake-truth everyone wants to believe?

Fundamentally the problem isn't democratization, it's that in liberal-democratic society democracy is farcical because the bourgeoisie control information. They can dictate the truth, teach it to people, and now that truth is the liberal-democratic consensus.

Also broader society generally has significant disagreements with the right, even if there are places where they are trending toward agreement that you and I find terrible. There is generally at least a mild desire for progress in most of society, and this is deliberately and through extensive and varied means held back by the rich and their reactionary cults. That's why, among other things, they need an endless procession of billionaire-backed reactionary thinktanks pumping out this garbage, something communists do not benefit from, and even the further ends of liberal-progressivism hardly benefit from it.

Why do this? Conservapedia already exists

[–] Krem@hexbear.net 2 points 2 days ago

sounds like some old people shit. no one wants to visit your old convervapedia, grampa. who cares about some US president that was a communist 80 years ago or how the US won against vietnam? i want to read articles about how white men today are badass chads and how alpha wolves are a real thing and how using my phone 20 hours a day is actually rewiring my brain to make me smarter

Tried to read the strangely in depth Brace Belden page on it and it has the same issues as any long form LLM stuff. It kinda rambles and can’t properly organize things, so you just end up with eye glazing slopipedia.
