This seems dangerous for both the codebase and the cars around them.

[–] Natanael@infosec.pub 68 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Crashing and then crashing

[–] ArseAssassin@sopuli.xyz 21 points 2 weeks ago

How to crash your software and hardware at once.

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

In case of crash git revert or git reset --hard idbeforecrash

When the cost of living is so egregiously high that not only do you need two jobs, but you have to do them at the same time

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 35 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

A software engineer needs two jobs. Which means most people need at least 4. Or 3 if they live under a bridge.

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 6 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

A software engineer does not need two jobs. That's ridiculous.

[–] Sauerkraut@discuss.tchncs.de 16 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

It sounds ridiculous, yes, but there are US software engineers who basically work for minimum wage full time doing freelance work because that is all they can find

[–] LGTM@discuss.tchncs.de 73 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Do NOT let me do this, I will actually be rage-merging on the road. "LFGTM 😡" bypass branch protection rules

[–] eager_eagle@lemmy.world 29 points 2 weeks ago

Yo Dawg, I heard you like merging. ..

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 34 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Ok, obviously merging while you merge is super dangerous. Almost as dangerous as using light mode on your phone. The rider should've known he was a sociopath just from that.

[–] BJ_and_the_bear@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Hey, I prefer light mode. There are dozens of us!

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 16 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Nothing in life really prepares you for meeting such an unfathomable being...

probably the only time they can actually successfully merge

[–] marlowe221@lemmy.world 20 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I’m not sure if that is impressive or terrifying.

[–] fckreddit@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 weeks ago

Personally, I find it depressing.

[–] zeograd@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

¿Por qué no los dos?

[–] jadelord@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 2 weeks ago

Somebody tell that dude that having a "bus factor" doesn't mean you should actively seek getting run over by a bus!

[–] TheLeadenSea@sh.itjust.works 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Science fiction or San Francisco?

This is a concept known as CAC (configuration as code) - the driver made changes to the route, making the change visible, reversible, safe, auditable and testable. It's also great for the PRs merged per day metric!

He's checking in code for FSD.

[–] count_dongulus@lemmy.world 6 points 2 weeks ago

This is the sort of engineer getting wholly replaced by Copilot

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

"I swear this shit only happens in SF"

He says it like that's a good thing?

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 9 points 2 weeks ago

Nah. That's a turn of phrase. I.e. only this Backcountry shithole would have crazy people like this.
