Disappointing to hear. I really hope the new party doesn’t fall apart over this shit.

Well, there goes any credibility Your Party had. 20000 new paid members in a couple of hours, who are then all told to urgently cancel their membership while the leadership squabbles.

Amazing look guys.

Making Your Party look like a disorganised fractious mess at best and a phishing scam at worst. A more perfect sabotage I couldn’t imagine.

The hope was nice while it lasted I guess.

Me, I’ll be continuing with my “get the fuck out of the country” plan.

Why is Corbyn so bad at creating a party?

[–] moss_icon@hexbear.net 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He’s never been a great leader. His feebleness is his Achilles’ heel.

This is why I really wish Sultana were in charge. Plus Corbyn will be 80 by the next election.

Is this why he handled the antisemitism charges so badly during his election? Did he just never fight back on those or something? I was in the midst of Bernie fever and wasn't super paying attention to UK politics at the time.

That is Corbyn's biggest weakness, he knows he's from a privileged background, so any accusation of racism or anti-semitism, he'll be on the defensive. He's too nice of a guy to be successful in the vicious bourgeois political landscape dominated by corporate media, they'll slander him no matter he does.

Yes

Maybe Corbyn really is British Bernie in more ways than one

[–] Biggay@hexbear.net 20 points 1 week ago

Hes better and worse in many different facets. But his inability and unwillingness to actually wield power as the Labour leader is the truest test of him that Bernie never got to even take.

Name the last piece of good news you have heard. How long ago was it? Considering only bad things happen nowadays, expect the party to fall apart over this shit. Guaranteed.

look at the state of my western left! it's been almost two months and they still haven't picked a goddamn name and they're splitting over whether or not people can join the party.

hopefully this all gets worked out, hopefully the right wing British media is making this all seem bigger than it actually is, hopefully by the time Corbyn gets his shit together British voters still remember why they liked him.

The British “left” is fucked even for Western standards. Your Party didn’t even last two months, Green Party who are liberals are considered “far left” for UK standards, the Liberal Democrats who a lot of the left vote for for some reason are the biggest shills ever, and the Labour Party which used to actually have a somewhat decent left wing sector with people like Corbyn and Skinner have gone so far to the right it’d make Thatcher look like a socialist.

"Unfortunately, I have been subjected to what can only be described as a sexist boys' club: I have been treated appallingly and excluded completely.

"They have refused to allow any other women with voting rights on the Working Group, blocking the gender-balanced committee that both Jeremy and I signed up to."

Sultana also went on to raise concerns that long-time Corbyn ally Karie Murphy and her associates had been handed "sole financial control of members' money and sole constitutional control over our conference".

thonk

"Your Party" is among the worst names they could have devised. Thanks Corb.

Sultana sounds like a wrecker. Shes been the common denominator in all the strife even before the party started. Her public temper tantrums to the press are detrimental to party cohesion and make the party look weak out of the gate. You can't get anywhere with people like that.

Corbyn needs to close ranks. People like Sultana need to get on board or get out. No more internal issues becoming public, only positive public press going forward.

Ah yes, it's the woman's fault

[–] SmokeyTheBear@hexbear.net 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Shes tried using his clout to her advantage since the begining. If you can't see the blatent carerism and opportunism she's shown since the start then you're blind. Shes been slandering Corbyn with idpol (exactly like Labour did) to the vicious UK media for not getting her way. You can't run a book club like this, let alone a political party. Internal issues stay internal, period. You come to a party line internally and have a public united front, despite internal disagreements. This is how serious people run a party.

Europe is looking down the barrel of a fascist takeover. UK is still helping the genocide and is ready to ramp up the war with Russia. Neoliberalism has gut the social safety net. These are the biggest contradictions right now. Any childlike bullshit shes pulling to actively fragment the left is contributing to these contradictions.

Shut the hell up you know that's not what I meant.
