For casual web browsing, coding, and document preparation, I'm getting just shy of 4 hours on a 6-cell and a little more than 6 hours on a 9-cell. Granted that's with a quad core mod, IPS display, and full Coreboot, so the typical power consumption with a browser window open might be anywhere from 13 to 16 watts.

How's your battery life? Any optimizations I might be missing out on?

That's actually pretty good for an X230. On my current 6-cell, I have to be doing very little to get 3 hours. A one hour video call in a browser will eat about 70%. I'm not sure about the health of this battery, though.

The part about video calls is so true. I'm often stuck with taking them on my Android tablet so I have enough battery on the X230 for the rest of the day.

My batteries are relatively new, with 93% original capacity on the 9-cell.

As the other commenter said that's very good for an X230. My battery isn't the best condition tho, but I only get about 2hr max with 9cell and Linux (5.15)

Yeah, that's about what I was getting on my 9 cell when I decided to replace it.
