Dude I logged into my Facebook yesterday for the first time in a long time.
First I found out an old friend from highschool of mine unalived, coming up on the first anniversary of the event. Not close...we were on the football team together one year, we hung out a bit for a few years after I graduated, but honestly I think I've seen him once in the past 20 years.
But then on top of that, I see so many people writing words of praise and support for Kirk. People that I thought were friends, but honestly, I dont think I want to associate with them anymore.
Lemme clear something...any death is a tragedy, there are better ways, etc etc.
But, to use their words against them, he was asking for it.
This guy is the Christo-Fascist version of Joseph Goebbels, and his death is being treated like MLK's..

Thiel, for those that don't know, is basically the New World Order. Legit everything that conservative conspiracy theorists have been scared of for decades, and they are lapping it up.
And I get this funny feeling that Kirk is going to become this generations Franz Ferdinand. Not the singer. Part of me even thinks this was intended to spark a civil war, and the internet rage machine is just working as designed. And probably even arranged by a dickhead like Thiel.
I'm not saying he deserved to be assassinated. I'm saying that he doesn't deserve mourning. He has committed his life and legacy to turning back decades, if not centuries, of societal progress. Fuck. Him.

I can’t say I feel sorry for him, specifically.
But anyone who can’t agree with the fact that us being here, where a man (whether you agree or not) was shot at a public event for his beliefs and people are celebrating it, is absolutely insane for things to have gotten to this level, needs to do a bit of thinking.
And I mean that as, whether you think it was his beliefs (which I fully believe are WILD) that led to him being shot because they had no basis in reality and only sowed hate or the guy who shot him was crazy and shot him, we all need to admit, this situation is so far out of normal that I’m not sure there’s a chance to go back.
Sure that's something to be addressed if the murderer is a leftwing extremist. All the evidence suggests this kid is an ultra-nationalist Groyper. Media silence all but confirms it.
The bigger issue is that conservatives care so much about what others think. If you see someone doing something you don't approve of you call them an asshole and move on. You don't threaten violent retribution and another Civil War.
Sure, people celebrating the death of Kirk is a bit unseemly, but they're not hurting anyone so leave them alone. This all comes back to control and I'm against bullies above all.
The bigger issue is that conservatives care so much about what others think.
They are essentially Puritans. At least when it comes to anyone the merest iota different from themselves:
