Analysis and images of the parades is all over the internet and in the last megathread; for the China-India stuff I recommend this article, as well as the Tricontinental in general.

Image is from @xiaohongshu@hexbear.net's comment in the last megathread.

Last week was the 80th anniversary of the end of World War 2, and on such an occasion, China put on quite an impressive military parade, especially in comparison to the rather drab and corporate parade that the USA recently had. In attendance were many world leaders, including Putin, Kim Jong Un, and a very happy-looking Lukashenko.

This took place shortly after the SCO summit in Tianjin, in which Modi was notably in attendance. That one of the world's most powerful fascists was in attendance in China near the anniversary of the World Antifascist War is obviously pretty ironic. Regardless, the mood was still relatively positive; for example, Xi announced the acceleration of the creation of the SCO development bank, and Indian-Chinese relations are once again in the thaw cycle of their long-term cyclical pattern, with direct flights resumed and links expanded. The fact that there is this much projected optimism from China about a Global South which is being increasingly tariffed, infiltrated, starved, looted, bombed, invaded, and massacred in the hundreds of thousands by rabid imperialist dogs is perhaps a little tone-deaf, but buoying up the SCO is better than doing nothing at all, I suppose.

Any astute Geopolitics Understander can tell you that this is certainly not India joining the side of the Global South, but instead a move somewhat forced upon them as they seek to balance both sides for their own gain. As Trump amps up pressure on India via tariffs, it is natural that India would seek leverage, and there is much that India gains: industrial development, increased intra-regional trade, and scientific knowledge from a China which has, in numerous fields, now pulled ahead of the USA. India is also facing numerous internal crises, ranging from run-of-the-mill capitalist incompetence and corruption, to worsening conditions for farmers, to the ravaging impacts of climate change, and increasing their links with China is a way to vent off a little of that pressure and protect Modi's regime.

Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists
Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sources:

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Feels like we're in a bit of a Happening period the last few days. Not quite decades in weeks, but months in days maybe.

This is more vibes based politics, but I have been feeling like that there might be a war between russia and the eu soon. European countries will fold instantly due to basically dying economies (I live in one of the most "economical dynamic" regions of europe and basically everyone is losing their job, including family members - even lower and middle management this time) and popular discontent.

Like people in my part of europe are really receptive towards socialist theory (yes actually using the "bad" words even) right now, there is massive opportunity for actual left-wing mass movements.

This is funny to me because the purpose of NATO is to strengthen the American industrial military complex, and the alliance is dangerously close to falling apart because there's little chance that NATO backs up Poland

A thread with images of all the drone and missile debris found in Poland, Xcancel

Twitter source

Looks like Russian Gerbera drones/decoys, and the remains of AIM-120 air to air missiles that were used to shoot some of them down.

Big question is how did Gerbera drones get into Poland, range is too short to be launched from Russia (excluding Kaliningrad). Launched from Belarus possibly? Belarus is saying that these drones went off course due to electronic warfare, and that they also shot some down and informed Poland, in what sounds like a statement to cover themselves. Russia and Belarus are set to host a military exercise starting September 12th. Kaliningrad is also an option, one of these drones was found near Kaliningrad.

[–] cfgaussian@lemmygrad.ml 9 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Highly unlikely it was intentional, and even more unlikely that they came from Kaliningrad or Belarus. We have no reason to doubt what Belarus is saying. They have stayed out of the conflict so far.

There is also a non-zero possibility the whole thing was a false flag operation. Ukrainians have plenty of mostly intact downed drones by now that they can fix up and repurpose for a provocation. Especially since they just attempted another false flag provocation very recently, they are clearly desperate and willing to go to extremes.

A $10,000 drone taken out by a $384,000 missile.

[–] MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net 19 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

It's probably all they had on hand at the time for a quick response, F-35s were shooting down the drones, very much overkill. A much cheaper solution likely available to European NATO members for fighter jets would be using old model AIM-9L/M Sidewinder missiles, that's what Ukraine uses on F-16s to shoot down these one way attack drones. An F-16 can fit 6 of these missiles, with 2-3 external fuel tanks for loiter time. Even cheaper would be laser guided rockets, which is what the US uses. A single F-16 or F-15 can be fitted with 42 APKWS laser guided rockets, in addition to more conventional air to air missiles. But European NATO members likely do not have this available currently.

What was the point of flying through Polish airspace?

[–] MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net 28 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Probing, testing the response of NATO forces to one way attack drones. Firing off a a dozen or two Gerbera drones, which are made of polystyrene/styrofoam and cost very little (essentially militirised model airplanes), from Belarus into Poland to test and observe NATO response is a low risk, low cost maneuver, with plausible deniability. Belarus is already providing said plausible deniability by saying that they shot down some of the drones themselves and informed Poland.

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi, provides details on the agreement reached with Iran yesterday.

6 minute video, Twitter/X

Xcancel mirror

In short, according to Grossi, a framework deal that, if followed, should open up the way for the inspection of all nuclear facilities in Iran. Iran will also be required to report on all the attacked nuclear facilities, including the nuclear material (enriched uranium) present at these facilities. In obligation with the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. This is if the agreement is actually implemented.

~~I guess Iran wants more of its scientists murdered at home with their families by zionist airstrikes~~

hopefully this is just stalling on Iran's part

[–] MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net 14 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago) (1 children)

This all depends on if it goes through, Iran is doing this to avoid snapback. I'm not optimistic though, I think the Europeans will still go ahead with snapback unless this agreement is implemented to its most maximalist demands within a very short period of time, and I don't know if Iran can agree to that.

[–] WildWeezing420@hexbear.net 2 points 5 hours ago

Why don't Iran just surrender their country over to the EU to avoid snapbacks if they are willing to give up their sovereignty to avoid some sanctions

[–] WildWeezing420@hexbear.net 2 points 5 hours ago

If Iran is actually doing this they are so stupid

Guess they're gonna learn the hard way that NATO is for protecting the imperial core, not the periphery lapdogs.

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Poland is the core, americans & eu leaders wont tolerate poland falling away from the empire, otherwise the actual military nodes in western germany might be under threat, and without them you cant really have us power over the middle east anymore (of course greece & italy and the british cyprus bases are quite essential still)

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 11 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

I really do not think Trump is going to support Poland

Everyone else might see the reasons to, he won't

[–] Evilphd666@hexbear.net 46 points 13 hours ago

The speed they did this without any length of investigation of a false flag knowing Ukkkraine tried this in the past is sus.

This is literally just that one Monty Python skit:

And you can bet just as little will come of it. They'll just sit around and have their little circlejerk condemning Russia and beating their chests about how united they are and so on.

Trump allegedly demanding that the EU slap up to 100% tariffs on India and China, according to Reuters.

The EU diplomat said the U.S. had indicated it was willing to impose similar tariffs if the European Union heeded the U.S. request.

So is this where Trump demands that the EU do an economic kamikaze attack and has them take blame if they refuse? Saying that they'll do it too, but the EU has to go first, is kinda suspicious.
