That is great news! Workers unite!

Although I actually came here to tell what a strange word "unionized" is.
I am an engineer and at first I was like "They have WHAT???"
Took me some moments and actually reading the article to figure it out. :-)

They're not ionized anymore!

The slightly worrying part is though, that they apparently were in an ionized state before... 😬

Blizzard: WHAT THE HELL?

I think other places spell it "unionised" which eliminates that ambiguity

[–] Venator@lemmy.nz 1 points 9 hours ago

yeah it's less ambiguous because its makes it clearer that they're no longer ionised.

Wouldn't that not just be British spelling meaning the same and coming with the same ambiguity?

Well, anyway, better stay away from high level electrostatic fields, just to be on the safe side! ;-)

in other news: diablo cancelled ? 😅

Yeah, that's a bold move.

It's one thing when an entire studio or group of studios unionizes. In this climate? You know, the one where everything is green-lit or shut down on a whim. And there are firing thousands of people already, just for the hell of it? During record profits?

Don't get me wrong, I am 100% pro union, and I think that the entire games industry needs to get there, I will be 100% shocked if they don't shut down the project and can everybody involved just to make the point.

yeah it seems like good news, but am also cynical as Microsoft have recently cancelled many other promising game projects
