So I’m a father now and with great power comes great responsibility, that means not be possible to play my ps5 on my tv in the living room and loving much more the handheld experience of consoles like the Switch 2. Of course, I tried a PS Portal and it worked well at home but each time we travelled outside it became a brick. Decided to jump boats, I bought a Steam Deck.

I knew from the beginning that It wouldn’t be possible to play the greatest and latest games with the desk, so I made a list of all the games I have ever wanted to play and see if the trade off of lower resolution and fps for portability was worth it.

The majority of the games on the list worked “perfectly “ on the Deck. To my standards, of course, that means at least 30-40fps for story-driven and action games. Often newer games worked better than that. And with lossless scaling, I can tweak the up a little.

So I must say that this machine has surpassed my expectations. Let’s see if I can live with my catalog of games I already downloaded on the Deck without needing the PS5 (that it’s in the waiting-to-see-if-I-can-survive-without-it pile).

Ps: the intention is to not stream from the ps5, but to play natively from the desk.
