Blaming an art form for the tyranny of oligarchy is a bit silly. The capitalist class is going to abuse us using any & every means at their disposal, and canceling a literary genre won’t change that.
But with that said, I think Charlie Stross’ original blog post is really good, and that Altanticist sci-fi is significantly a product of the capitalist, neocolonial ideology we swim in, and so it reflects that. Stross describes this in detail. More socialist sci-fi, please.
