The headline sounds like they were going to try to somehow stop it but what happened was the 3rd party app store called it "the first Apple-approved porn app" and Apple was like "uhhhh no..."
How horrible! Porn! Is this what ~~jesus~~ jobs would have wanted??
Well, it’s dubious at best that they call it “Apple-approved”.
But it is. For malware checks though, not content validation.
You know very well that that is not the impression the dev is trying to make, and it will probably not hold in court either.
In marketing for the app, AltStore referred to Hot Tub as "the first Apple-approved porn app," and Apple has taken issue with the wording.
Inserting your approval is a crime, Apple.
Stop telling people what they can do with their phones.
oh no, porn on the internet. Somebody hide the defenseless kids.
The whole thing is dumb. This “app” could’ve been a website.
Of course, it all smells more like a marketing trick, “look what we have, switch to alt” bragging.
Life finds a way. Eventually. In Europe first, for some reason.
